The Momentum Trades Alliance unites labor unions, recovery professionals, and community organizations to help trades workers and their families recover from the devastating impacts of substance abuse and mental health challenges.
We are committed to restoring stability, dignity, and hope to the men and women who build America — ensuring that recovery and wellness are as much a part of the job as safety and skill.
Who We Are
A 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Foundation
The Momentum Trades Alliance operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation in partnership with Momentum Consulting Services, a behavioral health case management organization specializing in substance abuse and mental health support for union members and their families.
MTA extends Momentum's mission beyond consulting — serving as the community impact arm that drives prevention, access, and reintegration efforts through education, advocacy, and direct support programs.

Union Member Recovery Navigation
24/7 confidential helpline connecting members and families to live case managers. Behavioral health assessments, treatment placement, and follow-up care — coordinated with union benefit funds and insurance providers.

Family Recovery Support
Family counseling and peer support programs for spouses, children, and parents affected by addiction. "Family Momentum" workshops for rebuilding relationships and short-term stabilization funds for families in crisis.

Workforce Reintegration
Collaboration with union apprenticeship programs and contractors to support return-to-work transitions. Development of Recovery-Ready Worksite certification standards integrating behavioral wellness into jobsite safety culture.

Education, Prevention & Peer Outreach
Toolbox Talks on Recovery — peer-led mental health discussions at union halls and jobsites. Annual Stronger Together Recovery Summit and a Trades Recovery Ambassadors peer mentor network across participating union locals.
